While I do like the challenge of playing Minecraft in Survival mode, I will be the first to admit that there are aspects of the game that are... not entirely exciting, and which get in the way of the stuff that is exciting. Specifically, gathering the necessary materials to embark on big building projects. Quarrying cobblestone, farming trees, turning the wood to charcoal and the cobblestone to stone, the stone to stone bricks... the materials aren't rare, but gathering them is time-consuming, repetitive, and not really very thrilling.
On the other hand I'm loath to switch to Creative mode, as that removes the exciting challenge of gathering the rarer or more exotic materials - venturing into caves in search of redstone, gold and diamonds, braving the perils of the Nether in search of glowstone, blaze rods and ghast tears, and embarking on voyages of exploration by foot and boat. These are all adventures.
So! This in mind I've added a handful of custom commands which should take some of the grind out of things, while still leaving the more elusive materials as a prize for the bold:
- /stoneplease - Gives you a stack of stone.
- /sandplease - Gives you a stack of sand.
- /pickplease - Gives you a stone pick.
- /shovelplease - Gives you a stone shovel.
And as a reminder, there's also:
- /zzz - Summons the dawn.
Use these powers for good!
